ANIMAL STORIES_GIRAFFE

It has been a crazy week around our household! I would have loved to share a few other ideas but did not get around to them yet. I was also working on a project for a team meeting. I will share that project on another post later this week. This card is a SU only card using the fun new in-colors.
This is an idea that I came up with while watching cartoons with my kids. One of the scenes had this burst of color behind a subject and I put it right to work for me. I hope you enjoy it. I have not yet put a greeting on it. I have a brother in-law that really likes giraffes, but I think it would be really cute for a child’s card as well.
If you would like to purchase the animal stories stamp set, please visit my site here.

SUPPLIES:
INK: summer sun, crushed curry, dusty durango, ruby red
PAPER: whisper white (4 x 5 ¼), crushed curry (4 1/8 x 5 3/8), dusty durango (4 ¼ x 11)
STAMPS: animal stories
MISC: versa mark pen, clear embossing powder, heat embossing tool, chocolate chip ribbon (5/8“), summer sun corduroy buttons (2), snail adhesive, sponges, water bottle spritzer w/ water, crop-a-dile

1.. Take one summer sun coduroy button, spritz it with water till fairly wet.
2. Roll the button in ruby red ink till completely colored. While this is drying, start on the rest of the card.
3. Stamp the giraffe (animal stories) with the dusty durango on whisper white card stock.
4. Go over the giraffe with the versa mark pen
5. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
6. Take summer sun ink directly to paper using just the edge to create lines across the whole image.
7. Repeat step 4 with crushed curry ink.
8. Repeat step 4 one more time with dusty durango ink.
9. Wipe off the giraffe with a soft cloth.
10. Using a sponge, swirl summer sun just around the giraffe to create a background color.
11. Repeat step 8 with crushed curry, do not cover up the summer sun, it will blend really well.
12. Repeat step 8 one more time, with dusty durango just around the edge of the card and a little onto the crushed curry.
13. Attach the image to crushed curry paper using snail adhesive.
14. Wrap chocolate chip ribbon around the bottom of the 2 pieces of card stock.
15. Using the crop-a-dile, punch 2 holes in the ribbon and through the card stock.
16. Attach 2 corduroy buttons, to the panels.
17. Attach all panels to the final piece of dusty durango card stock.

***** I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS TUTORIAL AND WILL GIVE IT A TRY *****
